Why tastythreads?

This site aims to help the cause of treehuggers the world over, by doing the following three things:

1) Give consumers an alternative, sustainable option when it comes to clothes. We're starting with t-shirts that are 100% organic cotton (no pesticides! no fertilizers!), printed using sustainable methods (no plastisol! no pthalates!).
2) Show support and get the word out that there are simple things we can do to preserve the environment. Every shirt worn in public will be a message to everyone that simple steps matter, such as going organic for your cothing needs.
3) Generate revenue for environmental non-profits. 10% of the proceeds from every purchase will go to non-profit organization like nrdc, environmental defense, or www.stopglobalwarming.org. After you make a purchase, you will be asked where you would like your proceeds to go.

Actually, there is a fourth reason why -- it's damn fun! Check out the designs from the amazingly talented artists and designers, and give your opinion as to which is best. Just try it. It's so fun it's addictive. Not bad addictive like smoking crack, but good addictive like drinking water or breathing oxygen.
